Welcome to the Resume Rewrite Resource from Upword Resume

We’re here to rewrite your resume to open doors to the future opportunities you want.

To get you an optimized resume, we’re first going to ask you questions about your goals and work history. This will help us showcase your work history from the past in a way that will set you up for success with your hopes and goals for your future.

Don’t worry about crafting detailed or elegant answers, and skip any questions that don’t seem useful or relevant. Simply jot down the basics and we’ll take it from there!

    • Job Target

The first step to writing an effective resume is identifying your job target. Describe the direction you would you like to see your career go.
    • If you’re targeting a specific industry, list that here. For example, “I’d like to become a Customer Success Manager at an education company.” Or, “I’d like to land a job working from home as an instructional designer or learning developer for a corporation.” Or, “I’d like to become an academic advisor at a university.”

    • Numbers

The strongest contributors in a resume are quantifiable achievements. Brainstorm any metrics that help demonstrate your abilities. These can include learning outcomes metrics (i.e. pretest scores compared to post-test scores), student performance metrics, the number of curriculum areas you have managed or taught at the same time, the number of EdTech tools and LMS platforms you oversee of use, metrics showing progress with completion rates or improvement in any way, the number of assessments created, numbers of students/classes/teachers/parents you have overseen or collaborated with, programs launched or managed, trainings developed or conducted, etc. Don’t worry, you’ll discuss all this with your resume writer, but your notes here will get the discussion started.
